River Hongbao 2015

It was my favourite festive - the Lunar New Year or what we call it the Chinese New Year. Visitings, New Year goodies and playing blackjack were surely some of the highlights, but a special one this year for me was the 春到河畔 River Hongbao 2015. Jeraldine (best room mate ever; Cambodia trip buddy) and I made plans to visit this once-in-a-year event which has Uncle Ringo's rides. We won't deny - we went mainly because of the kiddy rides we wanted to take to relieve our childhood memories! However, the rides available were a little to our disappointment and they were pricey! Nevertheless, we had a whale of a time, ate to our hearts' contends and took a breather from the hectic schedule we had! I didn't feel like I was in Singapore due to the unique characteristics of Uncle Ringo's carnival rides - I felt like I was in a kids' amusement park or a in a carnival we would usually see in the 90s on the television!
We walked to Esplanade, caught the magnificent sunset against Singapore's exquisite skyline as we waited for the night to arrive to view the huge lanterns (or what do you call them? Those lighted-up figurines on the floating platform) in the dark!

Grilled Squid ($5)
This stick was amazing. I love squid! Oh, look at this glorious thing!

Chicken Kebab ($5)
Tasted normal, but the price was definitely more expensive than what you can get in pasar malams (night markets)!

Well, Jeraldine was pedo-ing on this cute little Eurasian guy; nothing surprising (HAHA)!

Duck Tour - Wacky Duck! I've always wanted to go on a duck tour! It's available for $37 and it'll take you around places like Fountain of Wealth, Singapore Flyer, Esplanade - Theatres By The Bay and Civil District! More of a tourist kind of thing!

The Singapore Flyer! View the entire Singapore City, standing at 165 metres tall and you might see parts of Malaysia, as well as Indonesia! Tickets are priced at $33 for Adults, $21 for Child and $24 for seniors! Look out for discounts though!

The FOODSTREET, whereby every food item is overpriced!

Here's the display on the floating platform!

I managed to hit 心想事成 on my first try! Hopefully my dreams will really come true! It was awkward when the man beside us hit 早生贵子!

Oops, I think he caught me taking photos!
Here's how the carnival looked like! Other than the outdoor rides, there were also indoor rides and games!

Who loves Cotton Candy? I do! $2/box is very reasonable though!

Selfie By The Bay maybe! Always so glad for Jeraldine x

Caught the sunset which was way prettier in real life!

As the night got darker, we headed back to River Hongbao. Look at the pretty lights!

We took the Meteorite in the afternoon with a view of Singapore's skyline and the mini Viking at night with little kids on board which we enjoyed!
Meteorite ($7/ride)

Tried to get a bokeh shot but I guess I failed! I love bokeh photos!

The humongous God of Wealth, 财神爷!

Had a lot of fun and it was such a memorable experience! Although stuff there were pricey, it was worth!
