Hai Ting's Bangkok Guide - Day 3

Day 3 in Bangkok was amazing - a cafe experience, Chatuchak Weekend Market and EmQuartier!

Initially, I planned to cafe-hop around the Thong Lor area but I decided to head over to Toby's on 38 instead. NO REGRETS!!

From Asok, we took the BTS to Thong Lor. It was supposed to be a 8-minute walk but we walked or 30 minutes to get to Toby's cause someone gave us the wrong direction and we walked all the way to the next BTS station, then had to walk back :( During our lost journey, we passed-by Bangkok's UNESCO site! Let's let the photos do the talking :)

After half an hour basking in Bangkok's uber hot sun, we finally arrived at Toby's! Tired, hot and hungry, we couldn't wait to enter the cafe but we had to wait for 20 minutes as it was full house :(
We ordered 4 mains and 2 drinks and they only cost us SGD$60! So much cheaper than dining in a cafe in Singapore!
Here is a review of Toby's on 38 Sukhumvit cafe!

Pink Lady Apple and Raspberry Cold Pressed Juice (150 baht)

Breakfast Bruschetta (250 baht)

Egg Mikado (320 baht)

Breakfast Board (350 baht)

Baked Eggs (290 baht)

The food was reaaaaaally good, so much better than many cafes in Singapore! In my opinion, their baked eggs was packed with flavours and the bread complemented it so well. I had the Breakfast Board and the creamy scrambled eggs were amazing! I was really impressed ;)
We also ordered the Magic, a kind of coffee but I'd prefer my mocha :b
Ambience was nice, pretty chill, bright - my kind of cafe!

We wanted to head to Chatuchak Weekend Market and the friendly and helpful staff at Toby's provided us with the directions to get there! :)

Thong Lor --> Mo Chit
Here we were on a sunny Sunday afternoon at Chatuchak!

This random tourist jumped into my photo and posed!! xD

Mango Sticky Rice for only 50 baht?! WHAT A STEAL and it was good!!!

I bought my little sister this Cola-flavoured ice stick! It's similar to the ones we usually see in Pasar Malams!

Huge fried fish cakes (although it's written as fish balls but they are huge)!

HOW CAN SOMEONE MISS THIS FAMOUS COCONUT ICE CREAM IN CHATUCHAK?! NOT ME THOUGH!! There were many stores selling Coconut Ice Cream, but I did my research and found that this store's was the best! Worth the rave! Especially when we were under the hot sun, this Coconut Ice Cream was so refreshing. It came with a mini cup of Coconut juice too!

After several hours in Chatuchak, we were tired and headed off for dinner. Instead of taking the BST or taxi, we tried the tuk tuk! IT WAS SPEEDING FAST hahaha but I liked it!! Our tuk tuk driver recommended us this restaurant at Pratunam which served really delicious Chinese food! Alfresco dining in a place with fairy lights all around, of course I had to take some bokeh shots oops :x

Not wanting to head home, I suggested heading to the new mall - EmQuartier. IT WAS FREAKING HUGE AND ATAS omg!

It's really pretty and bright! I remembered that there's this popular Thai Milk Tea Crepe Cake and headed to Audrey Cafe des Fleurs on the 8th floor of the Helix Quartier. Boy, we took a long time to find our way there as the mall was really huge! I'll spend a lot of time here the next time I visit Bangkok!
The cafe was pretty flower/garden themed, and it felt so cozy!

The famous Thai Milk Tea Crepe Cake

Nutella Cake

It feels like a princess-themed castle right! We headed to the basement to get fruits from the grocery store! I swear this mall is amazing.  Everything feels so atas and pretty! NICEST GROCERY STORE EVER. The pictures will show it all!!

I regret not buying the famous cheese tarts from BAKE right outside the grocery store, but I'll leave that for next time!! Only 3 days but Bangkok has impressed me ;)
