Picturenaries #3

Picturenaries : The Third

Truffle Benedict, Pacamara Boutique Coffee Roasters, Singapore, Upper Thomson

Part 2//
Flipping the menu, this one item caught our attention. I've seen these two words separately countless times in almost every café which serves a brunch menu. The first word - Truffle and the second - Benedict.

Truffle fries or Truffle pasta, it's something that we all know and Eggs Benedict, something that we are familiar with too. But this, it's new, it's something that I've never come across before - Truffle Benedict. Wait what, Truffle Benedict? Surely enough, we ordered a set and waited for its taste to either surprise us or disappoint us.

It arrived. Slowly, I cut the crisp bread while hearing the tingling noise as other diners' forks and knives clashed with one another. The golden-brown toast was perfectly toasted. As the knife dove in to burst that poached egg, the yellowish egg yolk started flowing, showing a contrast with the faded-yellow truffle hollandaise sauce.

It didn't disappoint. The taste of truffle overwhelmed my entire bite due to the truffle hollandaise sauce, even in the presence of the ham. When I felt that I had enough, we moved on to exchanging our food items.

A brunch affair.

Picturenaries #2

Picturenaries : The Second

Signature Breakfast, Pacamara Boutique Coffee Roasters, Singapore, Upper Thomson

Part 1//
We walked into the new kid on the block. White, clean interior greeted us with cute items on the shelves for sale. With delight, we asked a table for two and scanned through the menu.

We ordered two items from the brunch menu, as well as two drinks; coffee - definitely a necessity! As soon as our drinks arrived, we were being shifted further away from the entrance due to the lack of space. It was not a problem for me, except for the warm lighting that bothered me for a couple or two seconds.

Within minutes, the food was served. Bet you guys didn't know, but I can be quite shy at taking photos at times, especially when there's a crowd. Hence, I shyly tooked quick snaps of my food which explains the unsatisfactory quality of it.

Here it is - their Signature Breakfast. A Multigrain Toast, Blackcurrant Jam , Scrambled Eggs, a Sausage, a Hashbrown, Bacon, half a Roasted Tomato, Mushrooms and some greens. What a brunch at Pacamara Boutique Coffee Roasters.

Picurenaries : #1

Picurenaries : The First

only// Great Ocean Road 🌊 , Melbourne, VIC
I got down the bus and stared at this sign for a couple of minutes while the other tourists rushed down to the beach. Upwards only -- or we can interpret it as one-way only. Life is a one-way ticket to somewhere we wouldn't know; there's absolutely no turning back. The future is ours to decide and the past is not for us to dwell on. It hit me that we will not succeed or enjoy the future completely if we refuse to let go of the past. Look up and move forward, your future is brighter than what you think. Don't look back, just work your way up towards your future.

Picturenaries : Introduction

Hey guys! I apologise for not posting for a long time, but this sudden though hit me when I was travelling on Melbourne's Great Ocean Road ((perhaps I was too bored and my mind started to wander about)) but I would like to introduce this to you - Picturenaries. I've hit Google up and it isn't a legit word - totally. This word just popped up in my mind as if it dropped from the sky HAHAHA okay I admit I'm weird. Let's get straight to the point.

Pictionaries, or Pictionary (singular) is a photo with a story as it's caption or perhaps even a poem. I admit that my vocabulary is pretty limited, but I do hope it will improve as my "Pictionaries" journey goes along! As the saying goes, "A photo speaks a thousand words." I believe all of us are capable of creating stories or poems out of photos hence I wanna try this! Are you guys ready for the first Picturenary?

I will be creating an Instagram account (@picturenaries) to post full-length photos as I am someone with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder hence am unwilling to ruin my squared-photos feed! Feel free to hashtag #htpicturenaries to share your photos and stories or beautiful captions with me! In addition, the #htpicturenaries series would be more towards gloomy photos which might, I emphasise on the word MIGHT leave you to pause and ponder about life ((as this is how I feel towards some photos)) while photos on my personal Instagram account (@tripleshaiting) is more of the brighter and positive side, whereby both photos can show that perspective makes a huge difference when compared together.

All photos are taken by yours truly unless stated ((which is if I feature any of yours when any of you email me yours!)) I hope you guys will like this #htpicurenaries series and do remember to tag me in any photos or email picturenaries@gmail.com if you want to share your own Pictionary with me! Enjoy!

Birthday at Creamier

(oops distorted cup of Mocha cause the spoon flew out HAHAHAH)

Okay so here's about my trip to Creamier located at Toa Payoh ; it's famous for it's really yummy ice cream waffles ! HAHAHA it was actually my birthday celebration ! :b So yeah you all know how late this post is ! Didn't really had time to blog in ages (but I set the date and time to my birthdate HAHAHA) !

Celebrated my birthday with Heidi and Hillary , my favourite cousins ! :D

Here's the first waffle stack ; Cookies & Cream and Plain Ole Chocolate ! To me , it was heavenly , given the fact that I love sweet stuff ! Not Heidi and Hillary tho' ; they found it too sweet ! Although we spent quite some time taking photos , the waffles remained crispy and tasty ! Thumbs up for that !

We also tried the Thai Milk Tea and Japanese Green Tea ; Heidi and Hillary loved these two flavours ! Milk Tea-flavoured ice cream was surely an eye-opener for me and I enjoyed it ! I would really like to commend on these waffles as they're the best waffles I've ever tasted ! FOR REAL ! Better than those expensive ones I tried in some other cafes which weren't as good ! Each waffle stack comes with two waffles and maple syrup + chocolate sauce at the bottom ! (:

So thankful for all the birthday presents I received from my friends ! :')

Took several shots outside Creamier before we took an eight minute walk to Bradell MRT Station !

And and and , celebrated my birthday at home ! Thanks mum for the cake ! (:

So yup , another year older , wiser and hopefully more matured (oops) ! Really grateful for everything I have in life !

That's for all I guess ; Creamier is really a MUST-TRY ! :D

Café Review - d'Good Café

Here's my second food review - d'Good Café. I've been to d'Good twice and my experiences there were great! So, on to my first time with Yi Ting and Rong Jeun!
I ordered Eggs Benedict ($13.50) and just needed to top up $3.50 for a Cafe Latte. Yi Ting ordered the Fresh Sea Prawn Arrabiata ($16) and Rong Jeun had the Chicken Tikka Masala ($12). They provided The U Press too so you can just grab one and read! (:

We went on a Saturday so we had to wait around 45 minutes for our dishes. I've seen really nice photos of their latte art but they were probably really busy hence we didn't get a nice one! :(
Their Eggs Benedict which I had was really really good! The bread was extremely crispy, yolk of the poached eggs oozed out when I cut them and homemade hollandaise sauce made the dish even better!
What I heard from Yi Ting and Rong Jeun was that their Chicken Tikka Masala and Fresh Sea Prawn Arribiata were pretty decent too!

Next, on to my second round with Melissa and Vanessa in celebration of Melissa's birthday!
At d'Good, if it is your birthday (it must be on the exact day of your birthday), you just have to pay the price of a large frappe ($8) and you'll get a Jumbo Frappe (3 LITERS!!) So, we brought Melissa there and gave her a surprise when we presented her the 3-litre Chocolate Chip Cream Frappe to her although it was kinda awkward that everyone looked at us when we took the Jumbo Frappe to the third level! x_x

Also, we ordered their signature cake - Maple Sea Salt Cheesecake ($9). It really had a unique taste, different from cheesecakes I've tasted!

At 2PM-6PM on weekdays, they're having a promotion which offers you a cake (Cheesecake Brownie, Earl Grey and Matcha only) and one drink for only $6.50! We ordered the Cheesecake Brownie (Which wasn't up to expectations) and Café Latte! We also ordered a Hawaiian Pizza and like FINALLY, I've got a pretty picture of a pizza ! :b

Check out some photos of my second trip there! (:

Look at how huge the JUMBO frappe was?

Look at that JUMBO frappe!

Just a random photo of us!
All we've ordered but we were really full from these! (Probably because of the Jumbo Frappe!)
We sat at the open-space area!

Polaroids with our  Jumbo Latte! (:

Well, so d'Good Café seems like a pretty nice place for a hangout session with the promotion from 2PM-6PM, ain't it? If your birthday is near, do remember to celebrate it at d'Good for the 3-litre jumbo frappe! Choices of the Jumbo Frappe are: Espresso, Caramel, Mocha, Chocolate Cream, Chocolate Chip Cream, Caramel Cream, Vanilla Cream and Green Tea Cream! The Maple Sea Salt Cheesecake and Eggs Benedict is something one shouldn't miss out on too!

USS with Melissa !

So Melissa and I went to the Magnum Pop-up Store at Vivocity some time back in December and had a DIY Magnum ($7)! Yes, this is a very late post! :X
We got to choose our choice of coating, three toppings and a chocolate to be drizzled over the Magnum! For me, I chose the White Chocolate coating and for the toppings - Rose Petals (exotic), Chocolate Balls and Almond Flakes drizzled with Dark Chocolate! Here is a photo of how it looks like! (:

Then, we headed on to Universal Studios Singapore since our seasonal passes were expiring! :X
Took some random photos in the middle of nowhere ehehe! :b

Time for lunch! We went out of Universal Studios Singapore and here's a photo of us on the escalator!

Guess where we headed for lunch? Although I'm absolutely NOT a fan of Thai food, we decided to try Bali Thai and the Pad Thai was to my liking! We had a Chendol too!
Chicken Cutlet Pad Thai!

Chendol!
More random photos of Universal Studios Singapore!
Sadly, the Human and Cylon were closed for a period of time and won't be ready to visitors that soon! :(

Totally loving this image!

What you need to get before leaving USS? DEFINETLY THEIR CHURROS! USS' Churros is one of the best! x)
Bumped into Zi Fang on my way home and here's a photo snapped! (:

I've been to Universal Studios Singapore several times in 2013 as I had the seasonal pass! Well, guess not so often now since I didn't renew it! (Also, it's a little boring if you keep going to the same place and ride the rides too many times!)
