Melbourne - The Hardware Société

Café Review: The Hardware Société, Melbourne, CBD

Sorry for not blogging on my trip to Australia (I visited Sydney and Melbourne and enjoyed my trip A LOT!) as I was kind of lazy oops. However, here's a café review as one should never leave Melbourne without visitng any of their cafés, and especially for me, a hipster café :b

I thought that prices would be lower than Singapore's cafés but the pricing on the menu proved me wrong. The food items were more expensive than Singapore's café food items but one thing was that their menu has a WAY wider variety and they were pretty interesting! In addition, the food items were served to us as if it were a piece of art - beautifully plated and that was one huge plus point! I love beautifully plated food items, who doesn't?

The Hardware Société is conveniently located in Melbourne's Central Business District, especially easy to locate for tourists, a stone's throw away from Melbourne Central Railway Station. Although my family and I visited the café at around 2PM on a weekday, we still had to queue. This shows how popular this café is!

Photos of food items we ate shown below! (:

Salmon Confit (AUD $20)
The Salmon was cooked perfectly, garnished with pretty flowers and served with asparagus and legumes, as well as a sauce to compliment the dish which was to my liking.

Chicken Cordon Bleu (AUD $22)
Ham wrapped with cheese, then breaded and fried. Served with some veggies and a quarter of a potato.

Top:
Baked Eggs Deux (AUD $18)
Baked eggs with Chorizo Sausage, Potato, Piquillo Peppers, Queso De Cabra, Toasted Almonds and Aioli, served with bread. My main purpose visitng The Hardware Société was to try their baked eggs! My tastebuds were not disappointed! A 'UN' (Vegetarian!) option is available too!

Bottom:
Picnic Board (AUD$18?)

This item caught out attention when it was served to another customer. Who doesn't like colourful stuff? For sure, we had to order a picnic board! We asked the waiter what it was an he knelt down to take our order. A mix of everything; just the way I like my food to be (;
Fun fact: Why did the waiter kneel down? The reason was that he is 2.05 metres tall! I felt soooooo short :(

Below are several shots on the café's interior!

The trip down Hardware Lane was surely worth it! Cafés in Melbourne are so interesting and they have really unique menu items! I'm actually anticipating my next visit to Melbourne although I don't know if it will be an eon later or not :(

Picturenaries : The Fourth

Great Ocean Road, Melbourne, VIC

//What goes down the path,
  One wouldn't know.
  But what to make out of the path given,
  It's up to one to do so.//

So, school has started here in Singapore for most of us; back to a hectic life with heaps of homework everyday! Important year this year and to be honest, I've been playing throughout my entire past 3 years of Secondary School life. Definitely not someone who studies a lot, but I SHOULD be working hard this year, eh? I will do my best to make use of my time wisely and focus more on my studies; it will be difficult but I will do my best!

On a side note, missing Australia pretty much! Here's a photo of Melbourne's Great Ocean Road, around a three-hours drive away from the city but it's a popular tourist attraction, It's a must-visit in Melbourne as you'll get to see a breathtaking scenery!

Picurenaries : The First

 only// Great Ocean Road 🌊 , Melbourne, VIC
I got down the bus and stared at this sign for a couple of minutes while the other tourists rushed down to the beach. Upwards only -- or we can interpret it as one-way only. Life is a one-way ticket to somewhere we wouldn't know; there's absolutely no turning back. The future is ours to decide and the past is not for us to dwell on. It hit me that we will not succeed or enjoy the future completely if we refuse to let go of the past. Look up and move forward, your future is brighter than what you think. Don't look back, just work your way up towards your future.
