Hai Ting in Bangkok - Day 1

What I look forward to most every year is my overseas trip! I love exploring around and immersing myself in different cultures, watching how people in other countries live. This time, we booked a last-minute trip to Bangkok and Phuket, both in Thailand. With me around, the itinerary will be planned by me (because I'll get to go to places I want to HAHAHAHA) and I'm the kind to do my research before going! Although I didn't get to go to some places as planned, this trip was still full of eating and shopping!
PS: Photos are not edited and non-filtered because I'm lazy HAHAHA

DAY 1

SIN ✈ BKK

Upon arriving at Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK), we took a taxi to our hotel, Four Points by Sheraton for 700 baht. Pretty expensive for a taxi in Bangkok, but aren't airport taxis always expensive? :(

Four Points by Sheraton,
4 Sukhumvit Klongtoey-Nua, Wattana, 15 Sukhumvit Rd, Khlong Toei, Bangkok 10110, Thailand

I trust SPG a lot, hence I stayed at SPG hotels for my entire trip! (Thankful for SPG Hot Escapes HAHAHAHA)

We headed to Platinum Fashion Mall, a wholesale shopping mall and stuff there were pretty cheap! It's 6 storeys high but we only managed to conquer 3 levels in 4 hours, which shows how huge it was!

Grabbed these two cute-looking ice cream from the store outside Platinum - Durian and Coconut flavoured for 80 baht each!

Got this Caramel Macchiato from a van-cafe right outside the entrance of Platinum for only 50 baht!
That's SGD2 and one will never be able to get a cup of Caramel Macchiato in Singapore for less than SGD5!

Usually, the roads of Bangkok will never be this empty. However, on that day, it was "Bike For Dad" day where the King and people of Thailand rode on bikes for hours hence a lot of road closures! I planned to head to Karmakamet Diner (which I BADLY wanted to go to) and ArtBox Festival that night but due to the road blocks, we couldn't :(
Hence, we decided to give Pratunam Night Market a visit and stuff there were even cheaper than Platinum's!!!! We felt so cheated!

Of course, I had to get a box of Mango Sticky Rice which I adore a looooot. The mangoes were really sweet and the warm, sticky rice complemented the mango really well together with coconut milk drizzled on the rice!

As my sister was craving for Korean food, we braved the Bangkok jam (the road blocks were lifted by then) and headed to Korea Town, which was right opposite our hotel.

Korea Town was basically MANY Korean Restaurants; actually the entire Korea Town was just Korean restaurants?

We settled for Arirang as it was a familiar name to us and we ordered ARMY STEW (부대찌개)!!! Hello my love ❤ It's my 2nd favourite Korean food because 1st place will always go to 잡채!

After our late dinner, we headed to Terminal 21 to get fruits and look at the colours! We bought Hokkaido Milk too which was damn nice!
